Molly Lockwood, the Director of Human Resources at Sobel & Co., brings more than fifteen years of experience to this position. As a result of working with accounting firms of all sizes, including the “Big Four,” Molly has been able to establish ‘best practices’ at Sobel & Co. based on the knowledge she has gained across a wide range of diverse situations. 

Molly began her career in human resources with Deloitte & Touche, a well-known and highly regarded international accounting firm where she had responsibility for the files of more than 700 employees.  At Deloitte she originally supported the Human Resource Director, the Recruiting Director and the Benefits Director.  While working closely with these three directors, she quickly acquired the knowledge necessary to advance first to Recruiting Coordinator and then to Professional Development Coordinator. 

With each role Molly gained new insights and knowledge. She went on to become a Human Resources Specialist at Edward Isaacs & Co. LLP and worked with the firm through its merger with RMS McGladrey Inc. In that capacity, she managed employee relations, recruiting for both college students and experienced staff, performance management, salary administration, training and development and employee benefit communications for approximately 350 partners and employees.  She was especially valuable as she assisted in reorganizing departments, running orientation programs and counseling employees during the merger process. She not only discussed morale issues, but also identified solutions to problems and facilitated the necessary procedures to deliver those solutions.  

Leveraging her previous experience, Molly was highly regarded for having developed an array of programs, such as compensation and referral bonus programs, tuition reimbursement programs, new hire orientation programs, grief counseling programs (in the aftermath of 9/11) and  increasing on-campus awareness which lead to a tremendous leap in the firm’s acceptance rate. Molly went on to become the Human Resource Director at other New York accounting firms including Loeb & Troper and large regional firm, JH Cohn, LLP.

Molly has been recognized for her professional successes. She earned the RSM McGladrey Leadership award for her efforts in creating teams and also was given their National Courage Award for maintaining her composure during the 9/11 attacks and for  her ability to assist others in coping more effectively after the attacks. Molly is a member of SHRM, The Society of Human Resources Executives.

Lockwood graduated from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, PA with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

Molly resides in Lake Hopatcong with her husband.
