Rich Lafferty, a Member of the Firm in the audit and accounting services area of Sobel & Co., is also the Member in Charge of the Firm’s Construction Services Group. While Rich has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, such as manufacturing, non-profit, professional services, and wholesale distributors, he has a particularly high level of experience in the construction industry.  As a demonstration of his credentials in this sector, Rich has earned the well-regarded designation of Construction Industry Technician in Construction (CIT), awarded in conjunction with Clemson University and NAWIC in recognition of the individual’s ability to meet their criteria as an expert in the construction sector. He is also a member of Construction Financial Managers’ Association (CFMA) and a frequent author in related construction industry publication as well as a sought after speaker on construction related issues.  Rich has more than twenty years experience primarily with closely- held businesses.

Rich is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Building Materials Dealers' Association. 

Rich is also very active in community organizations in the Township of Livingston.

Rich is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University, Madison, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Rich and his family reside in Livingston, New Jersey.
