"I first came to Sobel & Co. in February for my interview and became immediately impressed with the culture of the firm. I had come early on a Saturday morning during busy season and was enthusiastically greeted by everyone in the office, staff as well as partners. I accepted my offer the first week of March and started as an intern in mid-May. As a rising junior with no major coursework under my belt, the internship experience was intimidating at first but that feeling quickly faded once I began working with people at the firm. Everyone at Sobel has gone out of their way to help me learn and understand the accounting programs and procedures. I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to do pension audit work for two clients, Balletmakers and Sportcraft. Along with the auditing work, I was able to get a taste of the forensics department and the consulting group. In collaboration with the three other interns, I worked on a consulting project for a client, Milestone Scientific, to help them improve their distributor training. It was challenging in the beginning but rewarding when we were able to present our ideas to the partners at Sobel, as well as the CFO and CMO of Milestone. Overall, I have had a very positive learning experience this summer, and will apply my knowledge to my classes and work in the future."
